Whitelands Riesling

Our fifth release from Whitlands, and a very strong one at that. The Croucher Vineyard is set at close spacing on red volcanic soils, up at around 800m above sea level, and was planted in the mid-1980s. It is proper cool-climate viticulture - something I think Riesling really needs to give full expression

Westgate Marsanne Roussanne Viognier

Grown at Westgate Vineyard, site of some of our best Shiraz grapes. We convinced the owner to pull out cabernet and plant 3 rows of Marsanne and one each of Roussanne and Viognier. Crazily, it is the only Marsanne and Roussanne in the region.

"A single co-planted (2007) vineyard, the wine wild fermented in old oak and taken through 100% mlf, this reflected in its malty aromas. Despite the mlf, fruit and acidity dance around each other in an energetic display which carries through the finish and aftertaste." - James Halliday - 95 points

Grampians 'Super G' Grenache Syrah Mouvèdre

One of the very few GSMs from the Grampians, our 'Super G' shows off the bright and juicy side of region. Not as heavy as it's SA counterparts, it's a wine we love to drink for it's easy-going nature and vibrant fruit. A slight chill in the warmer months also works well.

'Super G' was born from my love of Rhône Valley varieties and the conviction that they are destined for greatness in the Grampians.

R.Lane Westgate Syrah

The Westgate Vineyard, planted in 1969 in the hills south of the town of Great Western in the Grampians, has been consistently and unquestionably our highest quality grape source, and we have made wine from these vines since our first vintage in 2004.

R. Lane Vintners represents the finest wine we have made and is only released in exceptional years. In 2019 it was the 50th anniversary of this vineyard’s planting, and the gods obliged with a season that was moderate and even, ripening steady and consistent, with small-medium crops.
